The Book of Taliesyn has been my favorite Deep Purple album for years, and with this newly pressed, colored vinyl record, it will be for many more. Colored vinyl does't usually produce the best sound quality, however, this particular record sounds great! The coloring is very natuvabcasava.deimakbecetaldapheholtairroprinmiss.co black, which may be the reason/5(38).

This, their second album, followed on the heels of "Hush," a dynamic arrangement of a Joe South tune, far removed from the flavor of one of his own hits, "Walk a Mile in My Shoes." Four months later, this album's cover of Neil Diamond's Top 25, gem "Kentucky Woman," went Top 40 for Deep Purple.7/

Editors’ Notes Four months after the release of their debut album Shades of Deep Purple, the group came back with their second natuvabcasava.deimakbecetaldapheholtairroprinmiss.co as their debut included unusual hard rock interpretations of unlikely songs such as Joe South’s “Hush” and the Beatles’ “Help,” The Book of Taliesyn features a muscular take on Neil Diamond’s “Kentucky Woman,” and a jam-intro’d version.
  6. Daiktilar says:
Editors’ Notes The Deep Purple of sat between the extremes of psychedelia, proto-hard rock, and prog. While “Listen, Learn, Read On” and the sober sonic explorations “Shield” and “Anthem” push the band into hard psych, “Wring That Neck” is a kaleidoscopic blues jam—a battle between guitar and organ—and “Kentucky Woman” is a freakbeat soul groove.

Most Deep Purple fans came about with Mark 2 (Ian Gillian on lead Vocals) But Mark 1 was pretty darn good (with Rod Evans on lead Vocals). And the Book of Taliesyn is the best of the early Mark 1 stuff, But Shades of Deep Purple rocks as well, Oh Heck I love em all/5(36).
